Building Relationships Through God's Love

We welcome July with a repentant heart. There are things happening in this world that are changing the way we see normal. Places are opening with restrictions. Some people are realizing what foolishness is happening.  God is winning battles. Even though it looks like we have certain major losses, God is winning. We are in an amazing time and the world will never be the same again.

Scripture of the Week: Matthew 5:14-16
“You are light for the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Likewise, when people light a lamp, they don’t cover it with a bowl but put it on a lampstand, so that it shines for everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”

I was working in my garden this morning and pulled a large amount of green beans from it. While pulling them I was reminded about God's Love for us and how He placed us here to care for His creation and how He cares for us in return. Not only that, as we cultivate and harvest to fill our bellies with the bounty of the land, He fills us with His Spirit and restores us to Him. I am thinking out loud when I say that the process of gardening in the same process that God uses to cultivate and grow us. We till the land and separate it from the rest. He separated us from sin when He gave His Son for us. We plant seeds and water them to make them grow. He places the Spirit within us to help us grow in Him. We give the plants nutrients, He gave us the Word. The plant uses the food to grow strong, we use His Word to feed our soul and Praise The Lord. As the nutrients help the plant grow and sprout blossoms to eventually grow fruit, so we grow in faith and do work (live in service) according to His will. Our actions and speech gather others to Him. The plant continues to grow and blossom to give more fruit to feed us and others. If we let the plant wither without nourishment, it dies. If we stop sharing His Word, we die in the spirit and no one can be spiritually fed by a dead soul. All this to say, do not lose faith in this troubled time. We need to fight the weeds of the world using tough love to plant the right food so that the poison of sin will be eradicated and replaced by the vitamins of truth. Stand Firm in Love. Be strong and continue to seek God.
