Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Are You Seeking Truth in The Right Place

AS we walk through the Scriptures it is a good idea to seek other translations to compare the thoughts of the day and how it relates to our current situation. This may shock some of the King James Only folks but even that translation needs scrutinizing sometimes. We should seek the truth not just in the study of the Word but in how we apply what we have learned. The truth is out there and we should not confuse ourselves with the desires of man. Yes, the truth is living within us and we should share it with others every opportunity we get. But how do we search for truth in this dark and dreary world ran by the devil?  He wants us to live in a material wasteland and forget God. The search for knowledge and truth is a vain effort when we are bogged down in the physical and forget the spiritual.

Search for Truth in Humility
One of the main points Jesus was trying to get us to understand is that we need to be humble in everything we do. Humility has a cost that many do not like. For example: Attention seekers boast in their efforts to make themselves feel good; People who gain much have a harder time surviving when they lose everything; The privileged who believe they are untouchable are left in the cold when they are found to have done illegal things that have a lasting effect on other’s lives.

Jesus warned us of these types. Luke discusses the Woes that Jesus taught when talking about the blessed:
 He looked at his talmidim (Disciples) and said:
“How blessed are you poor! for the Kingdom of God is yours.
“How blessed are you who are hungry! for you will be filled.
“How blessed are you who are crying now! for you will laugh.
“How blessed you are whenever people hate you and ostracize you and insult you and denounce you as a criminal on account of the Son of Man. Be glad when that happens; yes, dance for joy! because in heaven your reward is great. For that is just how their fathers treated the prophets.
“But woe to you who are rich, for you have already had all the comfort you will get!
“Woe to you who are full now, for you will go hungry!
“Woe to you who are laughing now, for you will mourn and cry!
“Woe to you when people speak well of you, for that is just how their fathers treated the false prophets! Luke 6:20-26

You cannot find the full truth when you are concentrated on the self and the current situation. There is no humility when the only thing you desire is your best life now.

Be the Servant
Finding the truth in Joy, Hope, and Love means serving others without selfish desires. This does mean being a (purchased) maid, a butler, slave, or indentured servant, those are people who forced into doing someone else’s labors and or greedy/lustful desires. I am speaking of those who have the heart to serve without compensation or accolades. Being a servant of the Father reveals the truth through our words and actions especially when the Word of God is reflected in our lives.
Being a servant is the mark of a good leader. In order to lead others to the truth of the Father, one must live a most humble serving life. When the leadership opportunity arises, the servant leader blesses others through living and leading as Jesus did.
Those who lead with hammer and sickle will lose more followers than they gain. The compassionate, yet stern and caring leader will gain more who are willing to accomplish the goals set by the leader. The truth is revealed in the servant-hood of man.

Heaven is Not Filled with Material Happiness
Don’t worry about the things you have on earth, they will not be in Heaven with you. Do not concern yourself with what job will you have, what you will wear, who you will be with. Those are earthly, material matters. Our place in Heaven is to continually Glorify God in what He tells us to accomplish. We will find rest from the troubles of this world and bask in the Glory of the Lord.

Seek Truth Through Prayerful Interpretation
I often wonder if the Doctrines of Man were properly prayerfully considered or did the desires of man guide the Doctrines. This is especially true when we study and interpret Scripture. So many false Doctrines have been created by the Bibles misinterpretation that it has ruined lives. Many of the Doctrines, especially in the last century have been influenced by the sinful desires of Man.
The Devil has misconstrued Scripture and created a people who find Good bad and bad good. They have replaced the Spiritual with the material and lustful human desires that go against the Word.
When earthly desires are in the thoughts of prayers, they get misdirected though the influence of our minds. When our thoughts and hearts and filled with Jesus, a right living interpretation follows.

Finding Truth
There is one truth and it can actually be found world-wide. Father God, the creator, designer, redeemer, is the one who saves us from darkness. This was accomplished through the flesh and blood of the birth, death, resurrection, and ascension of the Incarnate Word whom we call Jesus.
All good things point to God when we do not put ourselves first. In Him we find our true selves and who we are meant to be as part of His plan for the universe. When we serve others without selfish desires, we glorify God. When looking for truth, do not seek self-gratification, find it in the Word of God.
Brothers and Sisters, every day is one day closer to seeing God face to face. Do not fall victim to the desires of the world, rather, seek God in everything you do.
Blessings,
Rob, Servant of God
