Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Do Not Be Discouraged

We have all been discouraged about one thing or another. Some find themselves more in a bind when the discouragement overtakes them while others find strength in the adversity even after a bit of discouragement. Why is this? Scripture tells us from early on that God wants a personal relationship with us so he becomes our guide, our protector, our savior. It also tells us that He is our strength when we are at our weakest but the catch is that we must trust in Him to be there. When His Children are discouraged, God brings us strength and comfort. The comfort can come in many forms, we just have to open the eyes of our heart to see Him.

Do Not Worry About What is Before You

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Those are mighty words spoken by Moses when he was preparing Joshua for taking over. Moses is reminding him that God is the one who has control, has his back so to speak. If we believe that God saved us through the sacrifice of His Son then we should trust that God will point us in the right direction. Of course we can still choose the other path because it may seem easier but the path God leads us on (though it may be full of tests) will have greater rewards (not material) when we arrive at His destination for us.

I know it sounds better than it feels sometimes and you wish that God would have led you down the easy path but He actually does, on occasion. There are things in this world that we are responsible for according to our Spiritual Gifts and our tasks given. Some things seem easier than others. That is because of the Gift that God bestowed upon us, He wove it into our DNA.

The tasks before us are part of God’s Ultimate Plan. He knows what was, what is , and what will be in each of our lives. We cannot ignore it and we can try to avoid it; but if we are faithful to Him, He will place things in our path guiding us His Way.

But It Won’t Be Easy

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Jesus told us that life will be hard because we are not meant just for this, our Spirits are meant for greater things. Take everything that God puts in your path and give Him the Glory for it is by Him that these things occur. Now I know that you are saying that the devil puts things in our way, and yes he does but don’t you think that God may have already found the way around The Adversary’s tricks and helps you remove the stumbling block? That why He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us once we accepted Him in our hearts.

When God Incarnate, Jesus, walked the earth, He showed us the way to live and be comfortable with the life we are given. We can embrace our circumstance or change it if we choose but remember, you made the choice and the road home will be difficult. Find Joy in all sorrow the best you can.

By His Grace, We Are Saved

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

No matter how weak we feel, we can find the courage and strength we need through the free gift of Grace and Mercy which covers us in the Blood of Jesus. Jesus suffered so we wouldn’t have to. Ok, I know, yes we still suffer, we feel sadness, depression, weakness, and pain. Have you ever just stopped and asked yourself why?

Be Joyful in your weakness but do not flaunt them. Show that you can strive for greatness no matter what kind of dismay or discouragement you may feel. It is okay to cry, to shout in pain. In the shouting, Praise God and ask Him for healing. In your crying, pray for His comforting presence. We do not deserve His Grace but He willingly gives it out of His Love for us.
Brothers and Sisters, do not let yourself be discouraged. Instead, live and praise God through all worship. Share your story of His Grace in your life and when you think others see your weakness, in truth they see the strength of God working through you. You might not come out on top, but you will be where God needs you to be.

In God’s Love, Grace, and Mercy

Rob, Servant of God
