Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Intolerance is killing mankind

The number one thing on many people’s mind is living in peace. In fact, that is the model in which human kind was created. Once Adam and Eve made the choice to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the blocked parts of the mind were awoken and God then gave the gift of Free Will. He gave us this gift of choice because the awakening opened up our inclinations of good or evil. We call the evil inclination sin even though not all evil we are inclined to do is sinful in itself until an action is taken due to following the desire of the heart.

THE LAW MEANT TO CURB INTOLERANCE
When Adam received the Laws of God, it was given as a blueprint for keeping the evil inclination at bay. The Laws of God (Pre Ten Commandments and 613 for the Israelites) were introduced with both written and verbal explanations (i.e. theft including kidnapping and the Marriage Law including what is considered sexually immoral). Unfortunately, this made it possible to justify our actions and saying we were doing something for the good of society (we will see this again) when it was inherently evil.
The Flood occurred because God saw that the people were choosing to do things against God by serving idols and the immoral pleasures of the body by ignoring the Law of Marriage. He saved one family but the evil inclination was not removed because of Noah’s insensitivity towards others. He was intolerant towards those who were not following God.

INTOLERANCE SPREADS AGAIN
Then came the Tower of Babel when the people wanted to be god. They built the Tower for two purposes, to communicate and possibly battle against God. So God confused the language and sent people their own way. Because they could not understand each other, they became intolerant of each other and went their own ways according to the languages spoken.

Jumping many years later we are now concentrating on the Nation Israel. The first Temple was built to unify the nation under God. It was the place to pay homage to God through offerings, festivals, cleansing and healing. The nation failed to stay true to God through idolatry, murder, and adultery. The exile lasted 70 years which was the same amount of time the original Babylon was in existence before the Persian Empire took it over.
After many, but not all the Israelites now called Jews returned, the Second Temple was built. This Temple lasted for many years until 70 C.E. when it fell to Rome. Why did God have the Second Temple destroyed? Remember why Noah failed? Many Jews were intolerant of others without cause. Although this is not a sin according to the Torah (Pentateuch), senseless intolerance is equal to the three that caused the First Temple to fall combined. Because of this, the Israeli Nation was exiled for 2000 years.

INTOLERANCE IS A VIRUS
Intolerance is concealed under layers of justification and self-righteousness. Religious practices make us intolerant of those who do not follow the same practices. Stereotypes of ethnicity whose practices we cannot understand or find displeasing make us intolerant of them. You see, sins are symptoms of flaws in the human persona. Intolerance lies at the primal genesis of evil. Intolerance was created when the world was created because of the separation from God, the infinite divine light that preceded it. Because of this, the act of being intolerant attacks our very core of existence and the virus spreads.

MANKIND IS DYING DUE TO PESTILENCE
The pest that is killing all of us is the intolerance of each other. We must stop the hate that is brought on by this intolerance or we will never ever heal. Nations based on idealisms and religious concepts that disagree have to seek out their origins. Are they understanding God’s Word or man’s interpretation that changed it? There are people that cannot fathom a One World Religious concept but that is how this all started and how the world must finish it creation. We can kill this virus.

THE CURE IS CARING
The antidote for the virus literally comes from following the Laws, rules, and example of the divine light which is God. The single act of caring for one another was the First Commandment that coincided with the Commandment to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. Subduing the earth is where being the caretaker comes in. One human caring for another is a single unpredictable and unconditional act that is ingrained in our very soul. If the act of caring is conducted between two people where feels he cannot tolerate the other, the intolerance is defeated and creation can heal.
