Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
God, You are my God;
I search for You,
my soul thirsts for You,
my body yearns for You,
as a parched and thirsty land that has no water.
I shall behold You in the sanctuary,
and see Your might and glory,
Truly Your faithfulness is better than life;
my lips declare Your praise.
I bless You all my life;
I lift up my hands, invoking Your name.
I am sated as with a rich feast,
I sing praises with joyful lips
when I call You to mind upon my bed,
when I think of You in the watches of the night;
for You are my help,
and in the shadow of Your wings
I shout for joy.
My soul is attached to You;
Your right hand supports me.
May those who seek to destroy my life
enter the depths of the earth.
May they be gutted by the sword;
may they be prey to jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by Him shall exult,
when the mouth of liars is stopped.

One Way Leads to Life

I was reading Psalm 45 for my morning devotional the other day and something in it hit me hard. When I saw the part that is normally separated as a second stanza or verse I cried out in anguish because what I read from verses 4-7 has been forgotten by most of the last two maybe three generations. It states:
4 One generation shall praise Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wondrous works.
6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts and I will declare Your greatness.
7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness and shall sing of Your righteousness.

What concerns me is this: Is this meant only for those who truly believe, the ones who did not fall into the trappings of the manmade Christ, or is this meant for the world and we just have not spread it out enough for the world to understand it. I mean look at it….
The older generation is to praise and declare (teach, inform, make known) God’s Word so that others will know God. Wait a minute…That sounds like Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. There it is twice in Old Testament Scripture. Jesus reiterates it when He was chided for teaching the children, really, so it started back then but it has gotten worse. So those who forget the Old Testament have Jesus to remind them.
I have heard some say, “Christianity has no place in today’s world.” So I retort back, “Christianity thought is needed in this world with all the immorality today. Without God’s Word to guide us we would be the most degenerate generation and the world would belong completely to the Adversary.” Without God looking out for us, this place would be in such a state of demoralization and filled with hate. We would definitely kill each other off.
We have taken the world for granted when we are actually supposed to be the caretakers of His creation. We have hunted and poisoned animals into extinction, poisoned the air, the water and by proxy, the land. We have not meditated (thought deeply, been concerned) about His work of creation. We have squandered it.
Some have said that God is dead and we are in control of our own actions, our own lives, our fate, and all this is the result of free will or free thinking. Some declare themselves god in their own eyes and not understanding the greatness of God.
Finally, we have those who forget where they came from. They cannot remember the lessons of their youth and how great the involvement of God was in their lives through the parents. But we know because…..
OK so we have many people who claim to be Christian but are they??? Do they really know what it means to live a Christ like life? Christianity is not an ethnic group, it is for all humanity.
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.
(Psalm 45:8-9)
So what do we do? Wake up, follow Jesus and allow Him in. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let’s finish Psalm 45 with the 14th through 21st verses.

The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season.
You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name
Forever and ever.

Now do you understand???????  Go an share the Word. Bring God back to the forefront of this nation.
