Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Pride Month ??????????

Read Now

Brothers and Sisters, June is considered pride month for a particular group of people. Let me start with this… Pride is excessive love of one’s own false sense of excellence. Pride of self leads to nothing but trouble. It will actually turn people away from you instead of welcoming. Pride is the fantasy that we are all perfect. We are imperfect beings living in an imperfect world. All was perfect until the stain of sin. We cannot be perfect. So this pride is a false sense of truth within the self and very dangerous to all around the person. The problem with pride is that will cause destruction of the self and all those who accept the person’s behavior as good.

Before I say anything that some may take offense to, we are all human beings, one race, one creation by the Father God. We are imperfect beings living in a world created to Glorify God. Our great Ancestors were once perfect, angelic beings that walked with our creator until the choice was made to disobey. That did not change the fact that we are created by the Father, it just changed our perspective and caused us to lose the close personal relationship we had with God.

The fall brought about many things upon us that has caused mental and physical pain to every person since our story began.  Sin (words and actions against God’s will and Law) keeps us separate from true peace and harmony with our Brothers and Sisters all throughout the earth which is only found in the Word.

Each of us, no matter who we are, have done something wrong. We lie, cheat, get angry and bitter, steal, and boast. Some have committed murder. Some have committed sexually immoral sins. They are all sins and equally separate us from God. However, there are some things that God outright says are abominable and one thing that is unforgivable.

Abominable Sin

The sin that God finds abominable is the one thing that goes against the natural order of things namely homosexual activity that is, “You are not to go to bed with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22). In all of the translations except the blasphemous England Genderless Bible, they all say the same basic thing.

Christians are not the only ones who know this. According to the Christian Bible, Jewish Tanakh, Islamic Quran and other holy books, this behavior is considered unnatural and an abomination. The Gospels (New Testament) do not change anything from the Scriptures about same sex relations except the fact of no longer of killing the offenders. We, as sinners, do not have a right to kill other sinners (casting the first stone (John 8:7)) except for those found guilty of murder and even that is debatable.

Look, our bodies are God’s Temple and every time we defile it with unnatural things we destroy what God has created. We must treat our bodies as sacred not something to obsess over or look at in such a way that it causes us to be tempted and if not controlled, we sin.

What God wants is that you be holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality, each of you must know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, 1 Thessalonians 4:4

When people decide to go their own way and not acknowledge God, they lose much and are given over to depravity and what current mainstream society sees as good to do.
Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a craving for more. Ephesians 4:19  (sound familiar)

How much longer will we allow the depraved mind of man rule over us????????

Unpardonable

The sin that is unpardonable is: “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” (Mark 3:28–29). And…“Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven” (Luke 12:10).

When we refuse the existence of the Holy Spirit, that is like refusing God Himself. When we stop acknowledging God, we are punished.

Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. Romans 1:28

The sad thing is that the punishment is usually so slow to develop that we cannot recognize it until it is too late. But when God punishes us, it is not always quick like Sodom and Gomorrah. It is usually introduced in stages until the final punishment. When we call out to God, He forgives.

We are all God’s Children. Even in disobedience He still loves us. The guidelines are set, the moral codes are never changing (by the way, the Hammurabi Code and other early codex’s call same sex relations shameful). Keep your private life private.  When one shows pride and boasts in their sins (i.e. coming out of the closet and making their lifestyle public knowledge), the person desires acceptance. Keeping the sinful activity to oneself is better than sharing and boasting to the world and pulling many down with you.
