Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Searching For Answers

What are you looking for? Do you want financial security, a roof over your head, food on the table, and clothes on your back?  Maybe you seek someone that will be a constant companion or even a future spouse? Are you seeking out your purpose or why certain things have happened to you? Do you just want peace and comfort without all the problems of this world? Are you trying to figure this all out on your own with little to no success, searching but never finding? Have you asked God for help?
The Answers Are Not Here
I cannot give you the answers to everything you seek but I can tell you that if you are trying to take care of things on your own you are doing it in vain. People seek answers all the time by asking others how did they succeed or trying the latest trend in self-help to no avail because they are looking in the wrong place. Yeah some have success and have amassed great material wealth but are they happy? Are their questions answered?
When people seek the advice of others on how to do certain things they only get one side of the story. What works for one may not work for another. But there is one common denominator in all things that pass right by many because they cannot see what is right in front of them. They cannot see who is there to help with who they were designed to be.
We are all unique and have specific tasks and purposes that we are meant to be. All walks of life are given a purpose from the poor beggar on the street to the richest multi-billionaire, yes even the sick to the most healthy. But how do we know what our purpose in this life is. The honest answer is, we don’t honestly have a clue. Only God knows.
The Answers are in God’s Word
Our Father in Heaven is our Creator. He created the bodies in which our spirits dwell and gave each of us a purpose. These purposes are not for domination of others but for the benefit of all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
Jesus expanded on Our Father’s Word by telling us not to worry about things.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?  And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,  yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:25-34
We should not be trying to find ourselves but let God guide us. I know that in this time we live in people want answers faster that our brains can process things and when some get impatient they make poor rash decisions that may have serious or dire consequences. Doing things without asking God first can be disastrous, maybe not for the self but the effects are like a set of falling dominoes. So why seek elsewhere when God has the answers. For if we:
 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
If we talk to God in prayer then this statement will become true. God our Father has all the answers if we believe and have faith in Him then He will reveal them as He sees fit. We must have patience with Him as He has patience with us. This season of joy deliver this good news to all you see and all who seek the answers will find Him through the Holy Spirit working in you.
Blessings,
Rob, Servant of God
