Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
God, You are my God;
I search for You,
my soul thirsts for You,
my body yearns for You,
as a parched and thirsty land that has no water.
I shall behold You in the sanctuary,
and see Your might and glory,
Truly Your faithfulness is better than life;
my lips declare Your praise.
I bless You all my life;
I lift up my hands, invoking Your name.
I am sated as with a rich feast,
I sing praises with joyful lips
when I call You to mind upon my bed,
when I think of You in the watches of the night;
for You are my help,
and in the shadow of Your wings
I shout for joy.
My soul is attached to You;
Your right hand supports me.
May those who seek to destroy my life
enter the depths of the earth.
May they be gutted by the sword;
may they be prey to jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by Him shall exult,
when the mouth of liars is stopped.

Vile Tongues

Do you know someone who has one opinion for a good while, becomes known for that opinion then one day up and turns 180. The forked silver tongued person does just that. In the last 20 years this type of person is getting a lot of attention and is commonly known as a bandwagon jumper. This person type desires to sty relevant in the world no matter the cost to others much less themselves until they become victims of their own selfishness.
Hollywood has become this group thanks to the desire to remain popular and attention seeking. How many celebrities do you know that have changed their tune when society is turning against them or they could not get their way? There are more since the 2016 elections than ever before. The number one grabber for them is the sponsorship money. The powerful (by world standards) tell them that they will give them money if they do or say a certain thing. Many have fallen and willingly gave up any moral or ethical standing that they had, all for the dollar.
The Vile Tongue
 Your tongue plots destruction,
    like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.
3 You love evil more than good,
    and lying more than speaking what is right. Selah
4 You love all words that devour,
    O deceitful tongue.
Psalm 52:2-4
The people mentioned above are the ones destroying our way life. They are persecuting the good and letting evil take its place. So many good people have fallen because of their need to be in the world and care what others think of them. Church Bodies have given in to the desires of man and let go the Will and Love of God. Some have even replaced God with His Son without knowing it. God’s main name is not Jesus (I have heard people say, “I have a God and His Name is Jesus”).  (Jesus is a member of the Trinity but not the main part).
Be Careful the Words We Speak
There are some words we say that should not be in our vocabulary as Children of The Father. There are many but I will talk specifically about three of them.
1.      Deserve  We are not in a position to deserve anything except death. There is nothing on earth that we are entitled to. All those kids who think they deserve free things, accolades (trophies), or other material desires do not know that God is the provider, not the government. We should also not say that a person deserved that bad thing that happened to them. Not even imprisonment.

2.      Mine  Sorry Charlie it is not yours. Mine is a term of possessiveness. IN the greater scheme of things what we believe is ours is a temporary ownership. Think about it, even when we pay off something big (house, car, boat) we still pay taxes on it so we really do not own it. The other part to this word leads to greed and selfishness. Claiming something as personally owned especially at a young life makes a person prone to stinginess and an inability to share. It also leads to a lack of desire and ability to trade or give freely.

3.      Unforgivable  If someone does something so bad that we call it unforgivable, we put our feelings and decisions above God’s. We are not in the position to withhold the possibility of forgiveness. Only God can do that. We forgive because God forgave us. Withholding forgiveness is bad for all parties involved. Think of how many people sent to prison were forgiven by the person or a family member. A true sign of a Believer.

Be Careful

Be vigilant in everything and watch your tongue that it does not incriminate you or another. Remember, Jesus said that what comes out of the body is unclean unless it is from/of God. We all make mistakes in our speech but we should be aware of our words that they do not harm another nor blaspheme God. We can share the Kingdom, one good word at a time.

Love to All
Rob, Servant of God
