Building Relationships Through God's Love

Scripture of the Week:

Psalm 92

Of David.

It is good to praise the LORD,
to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,

To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
Your faithfulness each night

With a ten-stringed harp,
with voice and lyre together.

You have gladdened me by Your deeds, O LORD;
I shout for joy at Your handiwork.

How great are Your works, O LORD,
how very subtle Or “profound.” Your designs!

A brutish man cannot know,
a fool cannot understand this:

though the wicked sprout like grass,
though all evildoers blossom,
it is only that they may be destroyed forever.

But You are exalted, O LORD, for all time.
Surely, Your enemies, O LORD,
surely, Your enemies perish;
all evildoers are scattered.

You raise my horn high like that of a wild ox;
I am soaked in freshening oil.

I shall see the defeat of my watchful foes,
hear of the downfall of the wicked who beset me.

The righteous bloom like a date-palm;
they thrive like a cedar in Lebanon;

planted in the house of the LORD,
they flourish in the courts of our God.

In old age they still produce fruit;
they are full of sap and freshness,

attesting that the LORD is upright,
my rock, in whom there is no wrong.

Why Did God Say "NO"?

Read Now

When we have a personal desire that may or may not be part of God’s plan in our lives we sometimes get a resounding “NO” for an answer. Why does God do this? What we desire may not be what God needs from us. Sometimes our timing is not in tune with God’s timing and we have to be patient waiting for His “Yes” and it might not be exactly what we wanted but in the way God knows we need it.

There are many instances in Scripture where someone asks for something. For some the result is instantaneous. For some, patience is learned. For some, God granted the opposite. For one, the need for one thing led to the receiving of so much more.
We have to understand that our human desires are not in God’s Plan for us. He might grant our wish to teach a lesson of disregard it if He knows it will take us down the wrong path. For everything we need to depend on God, listening closely to how He responds to our wants and needs.

Don’t Pray For Patience You Never Know What You Will Get

How often we ask for patience when a hard decision has to made or we have something that we are anxiously waiting on and just cannot stand it? God knows what we want, we just have to have patience for His timing. If you ask for patience you may be waiting a long time for the thing you want only to find that it was not what you needed.

Do Pray For Guidance and Understanding

We are part of God’s Plan and play many parts in every small detail that has ramifications when we make wrong choices. When we put our trust in God that He will guide us, we are left with an understanding that our path is not our own and that God will take care of things in His timing. This is a great feeling actually and has been a constant companion in my life. I have made some bad choices but God has driven me back on track. See, I relinquished all things to God and put my life in His Hands. It has been an interesting road trip so far and I cannot wait for the next turn, the next stop, the next destination.

Brothers and Sisters, we are in God’s loving arms thanks to His Grace and Mercy but if we cannot accept the fact that our lives are not our own, we live without hope, joy, and peace. Unacceptance means that we cannot feel His Love. If you know someone who is lost and needs a place to be, open up and tell the person about how you turned back to God. I bet there are some interesting stories out there.

In God’s Embrace,

Rob, Servant of The Father
